Maxtech Ventures resumes quest for Zambian manganese and vanadium
One of the properties covers about 6,300 hectares in the country’s Central province. The other consists of about 7,300 hectares in the Central and Copperbelt provinces. Initial plans include mapping along with chip and soil sampling. Drilling and trenching may also take place. Should results warrant further exploration, more drilling, bulk sampling and a maiden resource estimate might follow.
Maxtech also holds interests in manganese and vanadium properties in Brazil. Five grab samples reported last year from the Mato Grosso project graded between 51.4% and 55.9% manganese.
Last week Maxtech announced a strategic alliance with GeoXplor Corp to find North American vanadium properties. GeoXplor’s track record includes successful work on Clayton Valley lithium projects held by Lithium X Energy, since taken over by NextView New Energy, and Pure Energy Minerals TSXV:PE.
In March Maxtech closed a private placement of $877,110 and announced a further $371,250 had been raised through warrants exercised since the previous December.
