India’s coking coal port import traffic up six percent in April-June

India’s coking coal import traffic through all major ports in the country has been provisionally estimated at 15.83 million mt in the April-June period of the fiscal year 2024-25, up 5.61 percent over the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, according to data sourced from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) on Friday, July 5. According to calculations of SteelOrbis, total coking coal import traffic in June worked out at 5.54 million mt, compared to 5.26 million mt shipped into the country in May. According to the IPA, total iron ore freight traffic through ports, including pellets, has been estimated at 13.62 million mt in the April-June period, a decline of 2.25 percent year on year.
