Vale's nickel production went down in the second quarter

Vale SA in Brazil has released its Q2 2024 production report. Among them, the nickel production in the second quarter was 27,900 tons, a decrease of 29.4% month on month and 24.4% year-on-year. Nickel sales reached 34,300 tons, an increase of 3.6% month on month and a decrease of 14.9% year-on-year. Among them, there were 8,700 tons of refined nickel, 3,000 tons of nickel iron metal, and 16,200 tons of nickel matte metal. The year-on-year decrease in production in the second quarter is attributed to the planned maintenance of the processing plant.
