Gerdau: HRC capacity expansion to be completed by end-2024

Gerdau S.A. (Gerdau), one of the largest steelmakers in Brazil, reaffirmed its commitment to expanding hot-rolled coil (HRC) production capacity at its Ouro Branco plant. Gustavo Werneck, the CEO of Gerdau, said the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
The expansion plan will increase the Ouro Branco plant’s HRC production capacity by 250,000 tons to 1 million tons annually, which can improve Gerdau's ability to fulfill the growing demand for HRC.
The expansion project is also a major move for Gerdau for its goal to strengthen the company’s position in the domestic and international steel markets.
