China claims 24% of new shipbuilding orders in global market in July

In July, China attracted 24 percent of new shipbuilding orders (570,000 CGT) globally, ranking second in the global market, while South Korea claimed a 40.5 percent share (960,000 CGT), ranking first, according to the data issued by Clarksons, the world’s leading provider of integrated shipping services. In July, 2.37 million CGT of new shipbuilding orders were transacted in the global market, down 46.0 percent year on year, while down 2.47 percent month on month.
