The ex factory price of silicon manganese in India's main market fell by 4,950 rupees/ton (60 US dollars/ton) to 82,300-83,800 rupees/ton (991-1,009 US dollars/ton). Due to demand based procurement in the domestic market, the price of silicon manganese has fallen. In addition, silicon manganese smelters are struggling in the shrinking market, and downstream suppliers are unwilling to purchase at current prices, adding additional pressure to the silicon manganese smelters.
