Oman breaks ground on $68 million silicon metal plant

SOHAR Port and Freezone announced the groundbreaking of Green Ferro Alloy’s US$68 million silicon metal plant. According to the press statement, the plant will cover 160,000 sqm and will initially produce 25,000 tons per annum (TPA) of silicon metal.
This capacity is set to double in the second phase of the project. The silicon metal produced will be primarily exported to markets in Asia, Europe, and North America, enhancing the global supply chain from SOHAR.
