Brazil's mining industry to invest $64.5 billion until 2028

According to recent data published by Brazil's industrial group IBRAM, Brazil's mining industry finished 2023 with a 9.5% increase in its exports, compared to 2022, to a total of 392 million tons.
Looking to the future, the projections of the mining industry are positive, given that $64.5 billion will be invested between this year and 2028, which represents an increase of 28% compared to previous forecasts for the period 2023-2027.
Of this total investment, 26.8% will be allocated to iron mining, further consolidating the dominant position of this raw material in the sector's growth strategy. In addition, socio-environmental investments will represent 16.6% of the total investment, while 16.1% will focus on logistics.
